For any data category where a retention period is not explicitly defined (Course categories, Courses, Activity modules, Blocks) the period is 5 years. 


Purpose

Site Data Retention Purpose

We retain your data for the limited purpose of administering and enhancing your participation in our educational programs. Specifically, we use your information to (i) issue digital badges and recognitions, (ii) notify you of new courses within the same or related program areas, and (iii) determine eligibility for courses that require completion of prerequisite coursework. Course completion records are also maintained to enable the hosting and display of completion badges, which you may choose to share on social media and which may be subject to verification by employers, colleagues, prospective employers, or other third parties.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all learners globally and process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As part of this commitment, our Learning Management System (LMS) includes an automated Right to Erasure (GDPR Article 17) feature.

Upon receipt of a valid erasure request, all associated personal data will be permanently deleted from our systems within seven (7) days of submission, unless retention is required by applicable law.

After 5 years of inactivity the data will be anonymized and exported for trend analysis only.
